Garo Hills has some worst coal mines and natural caves. In many of these, you’ll have to share the eerie darkness with colonies of bats, sometimes numbering about a thousand! Siju has a well-known Nengkong cave. You can really get a sense of what life was like for the miners who used to work coal mines.
